Castle maid, Paper Mario

The castle maids are a recurring trio of pink female Toads appearing in Paper Mario. As they were out of Princess Peach's Castle when it was lifted into the sky by Bowser's Castle, they take a holiday and travel the world. They can be seen in many places throughout the game depending on Mario's own progress. They are apparently friends of the Three Beautiful Sisters, as they bring souvenirs for Felissa T.

A single pink Toad girl appears at the party at Peach's Castle in the opening and is likely one of the castle maids, as her dialogue indicates she spent the morning attending to Peach. The trio is first seen together in front of the train station in southern Toad Town once it becomes accessible after Chapter 1, waiting for the train to be able to move. They can later be found at the station by Mt. Rugged once Mario reaches Dry Dry Outpost. When Mario completes Chapter 2, they reach Dry Dry Outpost themselves. Later, they appear in Shiver City during Chapter 7, but leave afterward. They return to the castle in the game's epilogue to set up for the party, according to the Three Beautiful Sisters.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, their role is taken by the Traveling Sisters Three, who also take influence from the Three Beautiful Sisters. Compared to the castle maids, the Traveling Sisters Three are found in more locations and move more consistently alongside Mario's own journey.

Tattles

Each of the three castle maids always has the same tattle. Their position relative to one another varies depending on the location.

  • "This Toad is one of the castle maids. Seeing as the castle has up and disappeared, I guess they've decided to take a holiday. Traveling does have a way of refreshing the body and mind."
  • "This Toad is one of the castle maids. They're all traveling together. They're quite good friends. I've never seen 'em apart!"
  • "This Toad is one of the castle maids. She's always been very curious. I wonder what kind of trip they're taking. It's definitely not going to be as difficult as our journey, but I'm kind of curious."
