These are the Tuff Puffs that break off when you damage Huff N. Puff. Max HP: 1, Attack Power: 2, Defense Power: 0 Tuff Puffs will fly over and attack you directly. You have to shake them off you using the action command or they'll keep on damaging you. Huff N. Puff will swallow the Tuff Puffs to restore his HP, so think carefully when attacking. You can beat the Tuff Puffs easily by attacking all enemies.

Tuff Puffs are weaker versions of Ruff Puffs that are knocked off from the much larger Huff N. Puff. The Tuff Puffs provide backup while Huff N. Puff is battling Mario's party, and attack collectively as one unit by draining two HP from Mario with each use of their HP Drain move. Ten Tuff Puffs can only surround Huff N. Puff; others disappear if ten are already surrounding him.

The player must repeatedly tap the A button to tear them off, similar to the action command for the Jungle Fuzzy. In addition, Huff N. Puff can suck them back up, and restore one HP for every small Tuff Puff and two HP for every large Tuff Puff. All of the Tuff Puffs are defeated automatically when Huff N. Puff himself is destroyed.

Although the Tuff Puffs were once part of Huff N. Puff, they still refer to him as their master, implying this may be how other Ruff Puffs are created.

Tuff Puffs, Crystal Bits and Petit Piranhas are the only three enemies in the game that have only one HP (making them the weakest enemies in the game) -- all three of them are generated from the body of later bosses as assistants. Petit Piranhas are fought alongside Lava Piranha and Crystal Bits are fought alongside Crystal King.
