Benny is a Mushroom person appearing in the Super Mario Bros. comic "It's Always Fair Weather." He is one of the Mushroom people waiting in line for the Douse the Bowser attraction at the Annual Mushroomland Fair. When it is his turn to hit the target to drop Luigi, who is dressed as King Koopa, into a tank full of water, a nearby Mushroomer encourages him to "giv'im [his] slider." Benny manages to throw the ball to the target, causing the chair "King Koopa" is sitting in to tilt and drop him into the tank, with a crowd of Mushroomers cheering for Benny's success.
Later, after the real King Koopa's plans are foiled by Mario and is sucked into a cyclone by his own helicopter, he lands into the chair for the Douse the Bowser attraction, Benny manages to hit the target once again, resulting in King Koopa being dropped into the tank as Mario tells Luigi that he can take the rest of the day off.
