The comic

"The Mario Bros. Guide to Grooming Your Moustache" is a one-page Super Mario Bros. comic in which Luigi applies various styles to Mario's mustache for the benefit of the readers. The comic opens with Mario and Luigi in a barbershop, where Luigi grooms Mario's mustache into different styles. Luigi's mustache styles are all unconventional, however, causing Mario to become increasingly enraged. Eventually, Mario begins to chase Luigi around with a pair of scissors, threatening him with various painful-sounding mustache styles.

Luigi's mustache styles[edit]

  • Braided
  • Ponytail
  • Marilyn Monroe's would-be mustache

Notes[edit]

  • The waxed mustache style bears a passing resemblance to the mustache of Salvador Dalí, a Spanish surrealist artist, which is further supported by Luigi describing this style as "sur-really", referring to the artistic movement of surrealism, which Dalí was a part of.
