The Super-Sauger is an item appearing in the German-exclusive Super Mario Bros. story "Die Mario-Brüder und der Super-Sauger," appearing as a giant vacuum. The vacuum also comes with a retractable telescopic pole that, once attached, can be set up to two meters in height. Mario buys the Super-Sauger for an egg and a sandwich from a man with "a lot of metal in front of his head," who, unbeknownst to him, is actually Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise
The Super-Sauger is first seen in Mario Bros. Plumbing, where Mario pulls the box it is in down the stairs leading to the business. After pulling down the stairs, Mario opens the box and presents the Super-Sauger to Luigi, planning to use the vacuum to clean entire sewers. They then receive a call from a caller claiming to the Brooklyn Borough Hall, who explains to them that they have a clogged storm drain, and Mario and Luigi, believing the caller, immediately head off to unclog the drain, unaware that the caller is actually Shredder.
At the storm drain, Mario and Luigi pry up the manhole on Kenwood and Pioneer Avenue, with the former opening the large box holding the Super-Sauger. After Mario attaches its retractible pole and sets it to two meters, he and Luigi immediately begin using the vacuum to unclog the sewer; they are later forced to use the vacuum by Shredder, who demands that they use it to eliminate "the stupid turtles [blocking] the sewers," threatening to break their heads if they refuse, with his henchmen, Bebop and Rocksteady, holding weapons towards them.
After Mario and Luigi convince Shredder to let them have a twenty-minute break, as their show, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! begins now, they pack up Super-Sauger and exchange it at the nearest pizzeria for a super pizza, resulting in their second appearance on the show not only being a success, but also a rescue for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
