- “I am Mr. E, seeker of mysteries! I delve into unknown secrets of the world! So, care to join me on a mystery?”
- —Mr. E, Mario Party Advance
Mr. E is a Toad from Mario Party Advance. He is an orange-spotted Toad (though red in artwork) who has large eyebrows and wears a purple jumpsuit instead of vest and white pants. He is an adventurer that travels the world seeking for unsolved mysteries, often appearing during exciting events of Mario Party Advance, though he proves himself to be quite cowardly, constantly running away from quests involving him or demanding that the player fulfills his role in it out of fear. Despite his cowardice he is very prideful and considers himself superior to the player, referring to the current character as his apprentice even though he himself does little work in solving the mysteries he gets the player involved in.
History[edit]
The quest Hey, UFO!, Mr. E visits the rooftop of Mushroom Condo in search for mysteries, asking the player if they could help him. Rejecting him leads him to the conclusion that the player must be looking for other mysteries, accepting the request begins the quest. Mr. E says he has heard rumors of a UFO being spotted on the rooftop and runs towards Fly Guy to question them about the UFO, Fly Guy asks Mr. E if he wants to summon the UFO with him. After Mr. E instantly agrees he cowardly asks the player if they can go with Fly Guy instead of him. After completing the quest Mr. E is seen running back and forth shouting "No mystery is too challenging for us!" as if he had contributed to the quest.
The quest Condo of Mystery!, starts with Mr. E finding Snifit, who asks Mr. E if he could help him out. if you deny this quest, Mr. E will shift the blame of denying the quest to his apprentice, the player. Meanwhile accepting Snifit's request to help him begins the quest. Snifit goes on to explain that he wants to see a ghost in the Horror Condo, which is rumored to be haunted, and that he wants Mr. E to find one for them. Mr. E agrees and then goes to ask the player if he can find one for Sniffit. Despite Sniffit specifically requesting that Mr. E does it. After the player gathers Boos to haunt the condo, Mr. E jumps in fear, running away.
In the quest Treasure of Mystery!, Mr. E invites the player to a treasure hunt. If the player says they are busy, it will lead to him crying briefly due to the player's lack of interest, if the player agrees to the treasure hunt the quest will begin. Mr. E asks Klepto if he knows about any nearby treasure, which leads Klepto to reveal that he is the guardian of the treasure Mr. E mentioned. However, the chest has a mysterious four-digit code, which excites Mr. E. who quickly asks the player if they can input the code instead of him. If the player inputs the wrong code, Mr. E will furiously scold them. if the player guesses the code, Klepto will offer the treasure to Mr. E. which he refuses on account of it no longer being a mystery and immediately runs off.
The quest Chillin' Villain has Mr. E arriving at Mt. Frostbite claiming to have heard of a big foot sighting, threating the beast with a fistcuff. He then turns around to see Bowser, leading him to panic and quickly fleeing.
The quest Dino of Mystery! has Mr. E arriving at Loch Dorrie reporting to have heard of a lake monster sighting, after that Dorrie emerges from the lake, making Mr. E run away.
The ending of the game states that Mr. E mysteriously disappeared after the game's events, with no one knowing his current whereabouts.
