“To tell da truth, I don't want youse guys to find Frankie. He an' I go back.”
Tony, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Tony is the brother of Vinny and a member of the Pianta syndicate. He is completely loyal to Don Pianta, and later, to Frankie and Francesca when they assume leadership of the syndicate. During the events of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Frankie and Francesca elope, causing the Don to go ballistic. However, even though Don Pianta wishes revenge, Tony wishes for a happy ending (which eventually happens).

ProfilesEdit

  • Tattle: That's Tony, of the Piantas. That guy there's his brother, Vinny. They're super-tight. Tony's a wise guy who doesn't mind mixing it up a bit, if you know what I mean...

NamingEdit

Much like Rocko and Vinny, Tony's name is a stereotypical given name associated with Italian-Americans. Most other translations give the three a collective naming theme:

  • The Dutch, French and Spanish versions give the three traditional Italian given names;
  • The German version gives them Italian surnames that are also violence-themed puns;
  • The Italian version instead gives the three adjectival titles.
