List of shops in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Various shops and vendors can be found in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door selling items and badges. Item shops can be found in all of the game's major settlements, such as Petalburg or Twilight Town, and also allow for Mario to sell items, or store them for safekeeping.

Shop Points

The player earns one Shop Point for every purchase made from an item shop, and points are shared between all item shops. When a certain amount of shop points has been earned, the player will receive a free item as a prize. Once 300 Shop Points have been earned and the prize has been claimed, the point system will reset to 0 and points can be accumulated again to receive the same prizes in order. In the original, the shopkeeper tells Mario that he received the reward and then it's automatically put into inventory, while in the remake, after the shopkeeper says the same thing, Mario is seen holding it before putting it in inventory.

In the Nintendo Switch remake, badges not on display in the Lovely Howz of Badges will be stored in a box at the end of the counter from which Mario may purchase them. The prices for badges in the box are inflated compared to when they are on display on the counter.
