Imbobilize

Immobilized, also known as Paralyzed or is a status ailment in the Paper Mario series.

In the first Paper Mario, Immobilized is an uncommon status effect. It could be inflicted by the Stop Watch or Time Out. While Immobilized, the victim is unable to move for several turns. Watt is capable of paralyzing enemies with electricity with her Power and Mega Shock moves. Paralysis functions the same as immobilize.

This status effect reappeared in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. This time it could be inflicted with the Stop Watch and Clock Out; the latter of which could affect either enemies, Mario and his partner, or even the Audience. It has a lower chance of working on bosses or stronger enemies; for example it only has a 50% chance of working on Magnus von Grapple, while Crazee Dayzees have only a 30% chance and Bill Blasters are immune. [1]. X-Yuxes are capable of immobilizing Mario and his partner with their bean attacks.

This ailment once again appears in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. In this game, the status effect is brought about in the form of the "Tacked", "Clipped", "Stopped", "Frozen", "Soggy", "Taped", "Stapled", or "Crumpled" statuses. Victims of the Crumpled status receive double damage, and victims of the Soggy status receive 1.5 times of damage. Enemies that are Stapled are damaged as soon as the status is inflicted. Enemies like the Pokeys topple or Bowser that tries to swat Mario can get Mario crumpled. The POW Block can also give this status effect to enemies.

The only way Mario would get the soggy status from a normal battle enemy is a Cheep Cheep. Also Petey Piranha's ball of goo attack can get Mario soggy.

The Clip Guys are the only enemy to give Mario the Clipped status. When the Clip Guy is successful, it will trap Mario and his HP bar shakes.
