NP E-Mail Newsletter Sweepstakes were a series of contests run by Nintendo on the official Nsider website in the 1990s. The contests appear to have been run every few months or so, with the only requirement for users to sign up being that they are currently subscribed to the Nintendo Power Source email list. If they were subscribed prior to the contest, they will be automatically entered. The grand prize for each contest was usually whichever game the contest was themed around, though multiple prizes were occasionally given out. Many of these contests were themed after the Super Mario franchise.

January NP E-mail Newsletter Sweepstakes was held on the website in January of 2000. Unlike most of the other contests held on the site, this contest was not themed after a specific game; instead, the sweepstakes were framed as a holiday contest. The results were drawn on January 20, 2000.[1] The winner of the contest got to select one of 14 Nintendo games as their prize. Included in the list of said games were Donkey Kong Country and the Nintendo 64 version of Mario Tennis.
