Water Skipping[1] is an ability exclusively performed by Kiddy Kong in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! This move allows him to bounce on water, which is effective for reaching far or higher areas that the Kongs cannot reach themselves. This ability is required to reach a Bonus Level in Tidal Trouble and Riverside Race. Water Skip can be performed by performing a roll onto a body of water and pressing B Button (A Button in the Game Boy Advance version) right before Kiddy touches the water surface. Kiddy can bounce twice in a row, the second bounce always being higher.

The move returns in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, where Donkey Kong and a partner can do so by Kong Rolling onto a body of water; the bounce height is more consistent in this game. In the Nintendo Switch port, Funky Kong can do this by himself, though he surfs using his surfboard instead.[2]
