The kid[1] is a recurring character in the PC, SNES, and NES versions of Mario is Missing! who appears in every city that Luigi travels to. When interacted with, the kid either gives hints to where Luigi is going or tells Luigi about an artifact in his possession. In the PC versions only, the kid can state the cardinal or ordinal directions of a nearby Koopa. The kid wears basic clothing, including a shirt, shorts, and a baseball cap.
