Otaku-chan is Princess Daisy's friend and assistant who appears in the Super Mario Kodansha manga. Like the name suggests, she resembles a stereotypical otaku with big lips, long hair, and big glasses with occasional spirals in the lens.

Otaku-chan debuts in Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 8. In order to prepare for the judo tournament, Daisy goes to her house to borrow some martial art movies to study the moves.

In Super Mario Kart 1, Otaku-chan can be seen on the cover of the second chapter, holding a parasol to Daisy, acting as the racing queen.

In Super Mario Kart 2, Otaku-chan has a major role in the first chapter. Upset to have not been invited to Princess Peach's kart race, Daisy plans a prank with the help of Otaku-chan. After taking a picture of Mario and his ex-girlfriend Lady, Otaku-chan edits the photo (by cutting it and removing the space between the two), in order to make it look like they were kissing. Peach not only falls for this, but almost kills Mario in a jealous fit, much to Daisy's concern, who did not want things to escalate to such levels.

In Super Mario Kart 3, Otaku-chan is Daisy's kart partner and drives their vehicle, but she immediately crashes into a pole, disqualifying them from the competition.
