The Bilingaeru Kaeru no Ōjo is a princess that rules over the talking frogs that live in secret in the lake of Donut Plains 3 that appears in Super Mario Kart 1 of the Super Mario Kodansha manga. She looks like a human, wearing a frog-shaped helmet with the words "Bilingaeru" (Romanization of "Bilingual") on the back of it, a cape, frog gloves. Considering her role, it is hard to say if she is a human or a humanized frog: at the end of the story, she even questions her nature.
Failing to jump over the broken bridge of the course, Princess Peach sinks in the lake. The Lakitu fishes her kart out of the water, but she is not on it. Mario dives in to rescue her: she is safe and sound in the cares of the frogs. The frog princess welcomes them and, once Peach regains consciousness, she bids them farewell, giving them two treasure chests, as a bribe to not talk of their secret kingdom to anyone else, telling them to open the chests in case of distress. The first chest, opened by Peach because nobody was giving her attention, causes the course to turn into Vanilla Lake 2. The second chest is also opened by Peach to stop Bowser from winning the Rainbow Road course against Mario, summoning a Lightning that hits the Koopa King.
