Elmer Kaniff is an alleged character appearing in the International Enquisitor section following the Game Boy comic It's a Small World After All, and the invention of the peanut butter engine. He is a reference to American agricultural scientist George Washington Carver, who discovered over 300 new uses for peanut butter.
In the story "Car of the future will run on peanut butter!", Kaniff explains that the oil companies are "out to get him", and will do anything to keep his invention off the market. It continues by saying that Kaniff invented the peanut butter engine in his mother's basement while working as a shoe salesman during the day, despite being followed at every step by spies from large petroleum companies.
As with most other stories in the International Enquisitor, Elmer's Kaniff story, as well as himself, are most likely fabricated, given that the newspaper is a tabloid newspaper.
Notes[edit]
- Elmer Kaniff's picture in the International Enquisitor depicts him sitting at his desk while holding up a jar of Jif peanut butter.
