Jose is one of Greg Campbell's crewmates aboard the USS Nimitz and a member of the United States Navy, briefly appearing in the Game Boy comic issue Team Play.
When a black cloud forms over an island in the Pacific Ocean, Greg notes that the cloud does not move, instead remaining in place. However, Jose tells him that he need to "get [his] head out of the clouds" and get back to work, as the USS Nimitz is not a place for one to fool around.
