HistoryEdit

During the comic, Michael calls his mother, who works at the power plant, asking when she will be home, to which she responds that things are going well at the power plant, and will be home by midnight. Outside, the Roketon scouts Tatanga sent find the power plant and breach the reactor's coolant system, trigger meltdown protocols. Panicked, the mother thinks of goind out to save her son, but a fellow operator reminds her that they have to stay to try to solve the problem. The impending meltdown prompts the authorities to evacuate everyone within fifty miles of the power plant, which includes Seaside Heights, where Michael lives.

Michael, needing help to rescue his mother from the power plant, summons Mario from his Game Boy. After explaining the situation to Mario, he decides to rescue his mother in his Sky Pop, while Michael rescues Daisy, who Tatanga is holding captive. Mario arrives at the power plant and finds a large hole in one of the reactors. Meanwhile, after saving Daisy from Tatanga's minions, Michael mentions that he hopes Mario is doing well in rescuing his mother from the power plant, to which Daisy realizes that it is a trap to get rid of Mario.

Inside the nuclear reactor, Mario navigates the complex pipe system, using his plumbing skills to fix the reactor while the operators estimate that they have forty minutes left before meltdown. Following the stress lines, he finds a Suu gnawing on the cooling pipes. He flees the creature by jumping over a heavy water bath, using his wrench to hold onto a broken pipe while the spider misses him and melts. Having been heavily exposed to radiation, Mario comments that he is not feeling so well and faints.

Mario's actions bring the plant's safety systems back online. An inspector finds Mario's body and mistakes him for a doll, saying that they will be in trouble with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Michael's mother recognizes the doll as Mario and takes from the man. After she seals him in a plastic bag, Mario wakes up and explains that he needs to rescue Michael, but is in no condition to fly the Sky Pop. Believing him, Michael's mother puts Mario in her bag and drives off to her house.
