Jerky's Burger Bar is a diner near Green River, Wyoming, appearing in the Game Boy comic Team Play.

History[edit]

Convinced that he cannot get his mother involved with the Game Boy invaders, Herman Smirch decides to "borrow" some of her house money and car before driving off to Jerky's Burger Bar. At the diner, Melody-Ann asks Rena what she thinks of Herman, to which she responds that she hopes she is not "falling for another of [her] lost puppies of the open road." Melody-Ann comments that he is "dark and mysterious," like the hero of a western film as Herman finds the price of his sandwich unreasonable, planning to skip paying for the food this time. Rena then leaves, and Melody-Ann asks if she can bring him anything else for him, unintentionally. After apologizing to Herman, Melody-Ann asks him if he is being followed by someone, to which, after stumbling on his words, replies with "Maybe...", though adds that he cannot talk about it. Melody-Ann believes to him to be either a mob informant or FBI uncover agent, just as another customer asks for some more coffee. She tells him that he will be finished with work in half an hour, saying that they can talk some more later, with Herman thinking that she actually likes him. Suddenly, he enters into a trance, and is hypnotized into summoning Pionpi from the Game Boy.

Herman tells Pionpi that he hypnotized him again, and asks him to leave him alone, to which Pionpi responds that he will provide answers instead of questions, explaining that he is merely the contact point for Tatanga and his army in his dimension, though adds that he will be rewarded if he serves them well during their conquest of Earth.

Melody-Ann returns to Herman's table and asks if he was talking to "somebody who has a little squeaky voice," to which he responds in the negative, telling her that he needs to leave. He runs out the door of the diner while keeping Pionpi in his shirt as Melody-Ann hands him her phone number, telling him to call her.

Outside the diner, Herman summons Pionpi's army from his Game Boy as he explains that they have come to establish a base for Tatanga in a place where they can enslave many humans. He asks Herman where the world's largest population center is, to which he answer China. Satisfied with the answer, Pionpi orders Herman to drive him to China, and the two drive away from the diner.
