Mayor Kotzenberg is a character exclusive to the PC version of Mario is Missing!, appearing as the fictional mayor of Athens. Like all other mayors in the game, they contact Luigi via videophone upon his arrival in the city, as well as after all of the artifacts in the area have been returned to their rightful locations. In the first call, Mayor Kotzenberg states that the Koopa Troopas are stealing the artifacts and trashing tourist spots.
Once all of the artifacts have been recovered, Luigi receives a second call from Mayor Kotzenberg, who thanks him for saving the city from the Koopas and wishes him luck on the rest of his adventure.
In the European CD-ROM versions, like all mayors, Kotzenberg's appearance changes every time the player starts a new game or resumes the saved file.
Quotes[edit]
- "Luigi, Luigi, Luigi! It's me, Mayor Kotzenberg. Welcome to our nightmare. Some very nasty beasties are making mincemeat of our boys in blue. All night long all you can hear is the pitter-patter of ruthless reptile paws. They're stealing our artifacts and trashing our tourist spots. You gotta put a stop to it!"
- "Luigi. You've saved our city from the Koopas, and the people are grateful. Thank you, good luck and good bye! And say hi to Mario when you find him!"
