"The Honeyhive"[1][2] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario Galaxy, where it plays in the Honeyhive Galaxy and the Gold Leaf Galaxy. It uses a 12-bar boogie-woogie pattern, and features electric guitar, marimba, flute, and mandolin instrumentation.

Super Mario Galaxy[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy marks the first appearance of "The Honeyhive". It is also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack album.

A frantic arrangement of "The Honeyhive", also arranged by Mahito Yokota, plays in the Honeyhive Galaxy mission "Big Bad Bugaboom". It features a faster tempo, higher key, and new intro. Furthermore, the electric guitar instrumentation has been removed, and a series of arpeggios is introduced before the mandolin section. It is titled "Big Bad Bugaboom" in the Nintendo Music app and the official Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack.

Both "The Honeyhive" and "Big Bad Bugaboom" return in the Nintendo Switch ports, Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Galaxy, for the same purposes.

Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]

In Super Mario Galaxy 2 and its Nintendo Switch port, a remix of "The Honeyhive" that adds muted trumpet and flute instrumentation plays in the Honeybloom Galaxy and the Honeyhop Galaxy. It is titled "Honeyhop Galaxy" in the Nintendo Music app. It is also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack album.

In The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a brief arrangement of "The Honeyhive" arranged by Brian Tyler plays when Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Bowser reach the Honey Queen's palace. It is titled "The Worst Place to Bee" in the film's official soundtrack.
