"Round 1 BGM"[1] is a recurring musical theme composed by Yukio Kaneoka for Donkey Kong Jr., where it plays in the game's first level.

The arcade version of Donkey Kong Jr. marks the first appearance of "Round 1 BGM". All arrangements of the theme done for ports of Donkey Kong Jr. are used for the same purpose as the original.

The theme for the final level of Donkey Kong Jr., titled "Round 4 BGM" on Nintendo Music, is a loose arrangement of "Round 1 BGM".

A slower arrangement of "Round 1 BGM" appears in the ColecoVision port of Donkey Kong Jr..

In the Family Computer port of Donkey Kong Jr., an arrangement of "Round 1 BGM", done in a higher key than the original, appears. The arrangement is reused in the Nintendo Entertainment System, Family Computer Disk System, and e-Reader ports.

An arrangement of "Round 1 BGM" appears in the Intellivision version of Donkey Kong Jr.

In the port of Donkey Kong Jr. for Atari 8-bit computers, a very slightly slower, but otherwise faithful, arrangement of "Round 1 BGM" appears.

The arrangement of "Round 1 BGM" in the Coleco Adam port of Donkey Kong Jr. is similar to the ColecoVision versions, but is done at a slower tempo.

The Atari 7800 port of Donkey Kong Jr. features an arrangement of "Round 1 BGM". The arrangement is faithful to the original, but done with harsh chiptune instrumentation.

Donkey Kong Jr. Math[edit]

The arrangement from the Family Computer port of Donkey Kong Jr. is reused as the main theme for the game's exercise mode, now titled "Exercise BGM"[1].

Mario Kart: Double Dash!![edit]

Donkey Kong Country Returns / Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D / Donkey Kong Country Returns HD[edit]

In Donkey Kong Country Returns, the Nintendo 3DS port, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and the Nintendo Switch port, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, a medley arrangement of "Round 1 BGM", "Title BGM", and "Round 4 BGM" from Donkey Kong Jr. plays in the level Golden Temple.
