Symbols[1] are items in Donkey Kong Jr. Math. The main four operations appear: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Symbols appear in the "Calculate A" and "Calculate B" modes, where they appear on platforms below chains. Donkey Kong Jr. and Junior (II) must use the symbols and the numbers to create equations whose solution matches the number shown on Donkey Kong's placard.
