Variant of Skellirex

Skullyrexes[1] are animate dinosaur skull enemies in Donkey Kong Country Returns and its Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch ports. They jump forward while biting, but stop for a bit between jumps. It is possible for them to turn around while grounded. Some Skullyrexes are very small, and this kind often comes in groups of two or three. Skullyrexes can be defeated by any attack, but cannot be stunned by the Ground Pound or Popgun Pound. When a Skellirex is defeated, its head bounces away from the stomp but without changing the direction it is facing, or bounces forward if it was hit by a Barrel Roll or Cartwheel Attack, and becomes a Skullyrex.

Skullyrexes that fall into tar pits sink a little before being defeated. All Skullyrexes that exist by default never bounce such that they fall in, but Skullyrexes transformed from Skellirexes can either fall in as they are transforming, or be led into a tar pit.
