The Maraca Gang[1] or simply Maraca Gang[2] is a trio of maraca-inspired Tikis. These high-ranking Tiki Tak Tribe members are distinguished from one another with unique feather colors (green, red and lavender) and patterns on their handles.

History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country Returns (3D / HD)[edit]

The Maraca Gang appears in the final level of the Beach world, Pinchin' Pirates, in Donkey Kong Country Returns and its 3DS and Nintendo Switch ports. In it, after the Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong approach the arena,The Maraca Gang pop out from behind a mast of one of the wrecked ships to hypnotize the Scurvy Crew into fighting the Kongs. Each member of The Maraca Gang hides behind one of the crabs during the battle. Once the Scurvy Crew is defeated, The Maraca Gang is left dizzy and vulnerable to attack. Attacking them and knocking them into the distance completes the level, or they can be left to recover and fly away to the same effect.

The transition for being defeated in levels of the Beach depicts The Maraca Gang's silhouette, except for in Time Attack mode.

In the final level of the game, Tiki Tong Terror, The Maraca Gang and the other high-ranking members of the Tiki Tak Tribe partake in a ritual converting them into hands for Tiki Tong. The hands are destroyed in the battle.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Maraca Gang is part of the Tiki Tak Tribe spirit, which includes all of the members who hypnotize bosses in Donkey Kong Country Returns.
