Cordian[1][2] is a high-ranking member of the Tiki Tak Tribe. Its name is a shortening and corruption of accordion, the musical instrument it is based on. The bellows on top of Cordian's head resemble a hat and is topped with a feather.
History[edit]
Donkey Kong Country Returns (3D / HD)[edit]
Cordian is encountered in Feather Fiend, the boss level of the Factory world in Donkey Kong Country Returns and its 3DS and Nintendo Switch ports. In the level, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong see a hypnotized Colonel Pluck, presumedly by Cordian, mashing bananas to create Tikis. When Colonel Pluck notices the Kongs, the effect wears off, causing Cordian to hypnotize him again to fight the Kongs. Once Colonel Pluck is defeated, Cordian is left dizzy and vulnerable to attack. Attacking them and knocking them into the distance completes the level, or they can be left to recover and fly away to the same effect.
The transition for being defeated in levels of the Factory depicts Cordian's silhouette, except for in Time Attack mode.
In the final level of the game, Tiki Tong Terror, Cordian and the other high-ranking members of the Tiki Tak Tribe partake in a ritual converting them into hands for Tiki Tong. The hands are destroyed in the battle.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Cordian is part of the Tiki Tak Tribe spirit, which includes all of the members who hypnotize bosses in Donkey Kong Country Returns.
