In Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, the course Wario Colosseum is set in an amphitheater resembling the Colosseum, and is also named after it.

The Colosseum itself appears in Mario Kart Tour as one of the landmarks visited in the Rome Avanti course. In the first route for the course, racers drive inside the Colosseum, and drive a full circumference of the building's interior, before gliding out of it. In the third route, racers drive through a bridge in the middle of the Colosseum, surrounded by two Chain Chomps.

The Colosseum returns in Tour Rome Avanti in the Booster Course Pass DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
