Boo Buddy
From the Super Mario Wiki
The term Boo Buddy has also been used sometimes to differentiate normal Boos from Big Boos.
Boo Buddies are Boos known for grouping in masses to attack. Boo Buddies appear in Super Mario World and Yoshi's Story. They tend to use special patterns while attacking, although Disappearing Boo Buddies don't use special patterns. Boo Buddies will also sometimes stop and disappear in the same manner as a normal Boo
In Super Mario World, they are found in Ghost Houses, but in Yoshi's Story they appear in Ghost Castle. In the Ghost Castle, Boo Buddies attack all at once in a cloud, similar to smaller versions of the Disappearing Boo Buddies from Super Mario World. They also appear as part of a Big & Little Boo in the stage Jelly Pipe.
[edit] Patterns
- Boo Buddy Snake – Forms a "snake" and reflects off walls.
- Circling Boo Buddies – Form a circle, but there's a small open space that Mario can pass through.
- Disappearing Boo Buddies – Hide at the top of the screen and dive when Mario approaches.
- Boo Buddy Block – Instead of shying away when Mario faces it, turns into a block.
