Flamethrower

A Flamethrower is a barrel that spews flames momentarily. They often occur in places where it is required to jump on the barrels over pits of spikes, perhaps. About one second after sparks are seen, the barrel shoots out a jet of flames about 3-5 blocks high. Some never turn off.

The Flamethrower is named after a real-life weapon called "flamethrower". An actual flamethrower is a gun-like weapon which can shoot fire; some other Mario-related characters (like a certain variety of Shy Guy encountered in Mario vs. Donkey Kong) have wielded these real flamethrowers.
