Mario as he makes his way through one of the few levels in the Space Zone.
The Space Zone is one of the six main locations in Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins. The Space Zone can only be accessed by beating the Hippo Zone.
In this zone, Mario will get into a space suit. When Mario is on the moon, he moves higher than usual, slower than usual, and has trouble stopping.
The golden coin of the Space Zone is guarded by a variety of space monsters (including Spiked Space Slugs, Mini Ships, and Falling Stars) led by Tatanga. Cannon Pigs would also seem to be native here, although they appear in other parts of Mario Land.

- In the boss level, parts of the music has parts of the Chai Kingdom music, which is most likely, and probably is, to reflect on Super Mario Land, which has Tatanga has the boss of the zone.
