That's an Elite Wizzerd. This is the top of the heap for half-machine organisms. Max HP is 12, Attack is 8, and Defense is 5. You can probably guess this, but it uses various magic moves in battle. And, if it's alone, it'll create illusions of itself. It has no real weakness. So just use whatever you've got to beat it, OK? Let's go, Mario!!

  • Copy's Tattle: That's an Elite Wizzerd illusion. There's no point in attacking it. The real Elite Wizzerd has a Max HP of 12, an Attack of 8, and a Defense of 5. If you attack the real one, the illusions will vanish. So find the real one!

Elite Wizzerds are the most powerful variety of Wizzerds appearing in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They can only be encountered on floors 91-99 of the Pit of 100 Trials.

Being that they are some of the final enemies encountered in the Pit of 100 Trials, they have very high defense and attack. They have many different attacks, all powered by magic. The most common attack of an Elite Wizzerd is to fire a laser, which does eight damage on either Mario or his partner; it can also pierce through any defense badge equipped. Other common attacks caused by Elite Wizzerd are its ability to tickle with their hand, — which does eight damage — as well as their lightning storm, which does the same damage as their tickle and laser attacks.

Elite Wizzerds also have the ability to improve their stats, rather than attacking. Elite Wizzerds can make themselves Huge, increasing their attack by two, they can increase their defense by three, and restore their HP by ten. They also have the ability to make themselves dodgy, invisible, and electrified for two turns. They even have the ability to cure softness caused by Mario or his partner. If alone, an Elite Wizzerd will create four copies of itself. These copies cannot be damaged, nor can they attack; they are merely created as a diversion for Mario and his partner. If the real Elite Wizzerd is found, the copies will vanish for the rest of that turn, and they will use their next turn to create the copies once again.

Elite Wizzerds are one of the toughest enemies in the game (even by Pit of 100 Trials standards), given their high attack, high defense (the highest in the game alongside Moon Clefts and Chain Chomps), and ability to make copies of themselves. However, like most enemies on Floors 91-99, they are vulnerable to Flurrie's Gale Force.

Trivia[edit]

  • Just like the other Wizzerd species, they will not hit other enemies if the player uses Super Hammer or Ultra Hammer.
  • Unlike other enemies, who give away a single star point upon reaching high enough levels, the Elite Wizzerd stops giving star points altogether once Mario has reached level 37.
