Triple Red Shells

Triple Red Shells are a set of three Red Shells that appears primarily in the Mario Kart series. When used, three Red Shells rotate around the driver's kart protecting him or her from Bananas and other shells. If the driver collides with another driver, he or she will be hit by one, and if the other driver also has another set of Triple Green Shells or Triple Red Shells, both drivers will lose shells. Like ordinary Red Shells, they home in on the driver who is a rank above the driver, but disappear as soon as it hits an object. In Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, they were only exclusive to Koopa Troopa and Paratroopa (including Petey Piranha and King Boo). For unknown reasons, Triple Red Shells were not used in Mario Kart DS Wi-Fi mode.
Triple Red Shells also appear in Super Mario Strikers and Mario Strikers Charged. When obtained, they can be fired in the direction the player is facing. After being fired, they home in on three players belonging to the opposing team. It useful for clearing room for a Super Strike or Mega Strike.
