Chuckleroot

Chuckleroot is large, gnarled tree that lives in Chucklehuck Woods. He guards the Chuckalola, the mother tree for the forest, where the Chuckola Reserve is located. During the events of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi, travel to the forest to find a cure for Queen Bean's stomach illness. Before they can pass however, Chuckleroot asks the plumbers to collect three special Chuckola Fruit as proof of their worthiness. Eventually, Mario and Luigi collect the requested fruit and enter the Chuckola Cola brewery.

Chuckleroot also has an unnamed granddaughter that Mario and Luigi meet during their time in Chucklehuck Woods. She is also a gnarled tree, although smaller than her grandfather. She teaches Luigi how to obtain beans from the ground.
