The Master Poet, whose real name is Simon, is a Toad who hangs out in Club 64 to be near his love, Chanterelle, in the game Paper Mario. Chanterelle is completely unaware of Master Poet's love and affection for her. When she loses her voice, the Master Poet is stricken with grief. He writes a special song for her, and asks Mario to find a composer for a matching melody.
