"Luma",[1][2] also known as "Luma's Theme",[3] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario Galaxy, where it plays during the opening cutscene showcasing the event of the Star Festival and during all chapters in the game's storybook (sans "Epilogue: Good Night" in the Nintendo Switch version). It is a lullaby played on music box.

Both "Luma" and "A Wish" return for the same purposes in the Nintendo Switch ports, Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]

In Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, an arrangement of "Luma" arranged by Mahito Yokota plays during the after-credits cutscene unlocked after getting 120 Stars. It is titled "The Luma and the Hat" in the Nintendo Music app. It is also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack album.
