History

Magic's Magic

Mario and Luigi want to play basketball with him, but Magic is interested in learning magic. Johnson struggles with the spells he tries to cast, and Luigi is injured on multiple occasions. By the end of the episode, he learns how to perform magic properly. He has to leave for a basketball game, but he tells Mario and Luigi he wants to spend time with them again.

Do You Believe In Magic?

Later, Johnson asks Luigi to repair his high school bowling trophy. Luigi agrees, but when he leaves to find a repair manual, Mario returns home and throws away a bunch of metal refuse on the same table that the trophy is on. At some point before Luigi's return Mario ended up using the trophy, not realizing its importance, to stir spaghetti sauce. Luigi returns and when he cannot find the trophy on the table, he and Mario assume that the trophy was thrown into the furnace and proceeded to create a new trophy. They "return" the Player of the Year trophy to Magic, who is quick to realize that it was not the same trophy he gave Luigi, as his was a much smaller high school bowling trophy. Mario then pulls the trophy out of the spaghetti sauce and assumed that the Mario Brothers were playing a joke on him. He is pleased with the repair work and the trophy's luster, apparently the result of being immersed in the spaghetti sauce, and left. Luigi later learns that the Player of the Year trophy was made from Luigi's favorite shaving mug.
