Super Mario–related role Voice actor for Donkey Kong (2004-2025) and Cranky Kong

Takashi Nagasako (長嶝 高士, Nagasako Takashi, born February 24, 1964 in Wakayama Prefecture) is a Japanese voice actor currently employed at Arts Vision. He provided the voice of Donkey Kong from 2004-2025, replacing Grant Kirkhope from previous games, along with Cranky Kong. While the former role would later be succeeded by Kōji Takeda, archived recordings by Nagasako would be used for Cranky Kong in Donkey Kong Bananza.

Outside of the Super Mario series, he is known for voicing Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Dodoria since Dragon Ball: Raging Blast, an unnamed Scotland yard inspector in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation, and Big the Cat in the Sonic the Hedgehog series since Sonic X and Sonic Heroes. In crossover media, he reprised the role of Ganondorf in Super Smash Bros. Melee (via repurposed voice lines from Ocarina of Time) and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Big in several installments of the Mario & Sonic series.

PortrayalsEdit

1 - Due to the voice credits being split between Nintendo and SEGA characters, Nagasako is credited twice in the Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and the Wii U version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
