Kumi Tanioka (谷岡久美) is a Japanese composer, arranger, and pianist who worked on various titles for Nintendo and Square Enix. From 1998 to 2009, she worked for Square Enix, composing for various Final Fantasy titles.[2] Since then she began working freelance, although she would still occasionally work with Square Enix. She has composed arrangements for themes from various franchises represented in the Super Smash Bros. series, including "Snakey Chantey" from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Outside Square Enix and Nintendo, Tanioka is also known for having composed music for the Caves & Cliffs and Tricky Trials updates for Minecraft.
