Megan Rose Ruiz
Megan Rose Ruiz is a traditional painter and illustrator. A graduate of Ringling College of Art and Design, they have worked as character designer and visual development artist for animation companies such as Illumination, DreamWorks Animation, and Sony Pictures Animation.[1] Ruiz states that they "prefer working on shows when they're still in development" in order to leave a more personal mark on a project.[1] Outside of their contractual work, Ruiz performs commissions[2] and produces prints for sale on their website.
For an estimated 6 to 8 months,[3] Ruiz was involved in the production of Illumination's The Super Mario Bros. Movie as a visual development artist,[1][4] being listed in the movie's staff roll as a "general designer".[5] They claim the role entailed drawing many Toads.[4]
