Toshihiko Nakago (in Japanese: 中郷 俊彦) is a Japanese programmer and president of SRD. Under Nintendo, he has worked on various titles in the Super Mario series, first starting as a programmer on the original Super Mario Bros.[3] He is part of the trio called the "Golden Triangle", alongside Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, due to their impact on the series.[4]

In SRD, Toshihiko Nakago initially worked on programming office software for personal computers. He began working with Nintendo on the Famicom, due to his familiarity with the console's CPU, the 6502 chip. He first met Miyamoto in 1984, when the two worked together on Excitebike. Afterwards, Miyamoto would bring Nakago and Tezuka together to work on Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda simultaneously.[4] Nakago remains in the position of president of SRD to this day, after the company's acquisition by Nintendo in 2022.[5]
