Para-Goombas are Galoombas with parachutes that only appear in Super Mario World. They descend slowly from the sky on parachutes, and once they land, they act like normal Galoombas. A kind of Bob-omb known as Para-bombs also appear, which also use parachutes. They are not to be confused with the flying Goombas known as Paragoombas that appear in numerous other games, nor with the two types of winged Galoombas that appear in Mario Clash and Super Mario World, which are also known as Para-Goombas in the former, but known as Flying Goombas in the latter.

Para-Goombas also make a minor appearance in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, where they are found at the end of the World-e level Rich with Ropes.
