Kalimari Desert 2
From the Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia
Kalimari Desert 2 (stylized as N64 Kalimari Desert 2 in-game) is a race course in Mario Kart Tour. It debuted in the Wild West Tour, and is favored by Pauline (Party Time), Dry Bones (Gold) and Wario (Cowboy).
The course is a reroute of the original Kalimari Desert course from Mario Kart 64. A ramp was added at the first crossing, while at the second one the track diverts to circle the railroad loop. Unlike the original, the course is segmented into two sections (the other course of this type being 3DS Rainbow Road): the first from the normal start line, and the second on the railroad at the start of the tunnel near said start line. Only one train is present on the track, moving much slower than the original trains since it now shares the tracks with the racers. The train is unaffected by the barrier at the second crossing. Since the racers are always moving forward, colliding into the train causes them to launch over it unharmed while they perform a trick. The train can also be knocked into the air with a Super Horn, a Mega Mushroom or a Bowser's Shell. While the first glider shortcut is still usable, the second one is blocked off as it would allow the racers to skip the railroad section entirely. The course also uses the same music as the original course.
Wild West Tour
In the Wild West Tour, Kalimari Desert 2 serves as the tour's signature course. It appears as the first course in the Wario Cup, the third course in the Pauline Cup, and the location of the challenge in the Dry Bones Cup. It also has a Trick variant which appears as the first course in the Baby Rosalina Cup and the second course in the Lakitu Cup, and a Reverse variant which appears as the first course in the Monty Mole Cup and the first course in the Larry Cup.
