"Metal Mario",[1] also known as "Metallic Mario",[2][3] is a musical theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario 64, where it plays whenever the player obtains a Metal Cap and continues playing throughout the duration of the power-up's effect. It is an arrangement of "Invincibility BGM" from Super Mario Bros. with an added countermelody, much like "Powerful Mario" from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
