Swinging spikes[1] are spiked rollers attached to chains that appear as obstacles in Super Mario 3D Land. They appear in World 7-2, Special 3-4, and Special 5-2. Most swinging spikes simply swing back and forth like pendulums, but some instead rotate continuously in the same direction. They deal damage if touched in most forms, but break upon contact with Statue Mario.
