"Coast Theme",[1] also known as "Beach Theme",[2] is a musical theme in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, where it plays in the beach levels. This theme succeeds "Beach Theme" from New Super Mario Bros., and would make numerous reappearances throughout the New Super Mario Bros. series.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii marks the first appearance of "Coast Theme". Additional bongo percussion is added to the instrumentation whenever the player is riding a Yoshi.

In New Super Mario Bros. 2, the original version of "Coast Theme" plays in the beach levels.

A woodblock beat is added to the instrumentation whenever Mario or Luigi are in their Raccoon/Fox forms.

A bell synth arpeggiator is added to the instrumentation whenever the Gold Ring is active.

In New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, the original version of "Coast Theme" plays in the beach levels. As with New Super Mario Bros. Wii, additional bongo percussion is added to the instrumentation whenever the player is riding a Yoshi.

Vocalizations are added to the instrumentation whenever the player is holding onto a Baby Yoshi. This remix is titled "Coast Theme (Baby Yoshi)" in the Nintendo Music app.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii Coin World[edit]

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games[edit]

In the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, an arrangement of "Coast Theme" plays in the Dream Rafting event. It is titled "Dream Rafting: World 4-1 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)" in the game's sound test.

In Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, the original version of "Coast Theme" plays in the beach levels.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, a Latin jazz arrangement of "Coast Theme" based on the arrangement from Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games can play in Free Roam during the day and on VS Race routes coming from Koopa Troopa Beach, Peach Beach, and Salty Salty Speedway. It is titled "Beach Theme" in the game's pause menu.
