"Donut Plains (Map Screen)"[1] is a musical theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario World, where it plays during the overworld maps of Donut Plains, Twin Bridges, and Chocolate Island.

Super Mario series[edit]

Super Mario World / Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2[edit]

Super Mario World marks the first appearance of "Donut Plains (Map Screen)". It returns for the same purpose in the port of the game included in Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World. It is also included in the official soundtrack album of the same name.

The Game Boy Advance remake of Super Mario World, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, contains its own arrangement of "Donut Plains (Map Screen)", which plays for the same purpose as in the original game.

Super Mario Maker / Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS[edit]

In Super Mario Maker, an arrangement of "Donut Plains (Map Screen)" plays during the map screen for the 10 Mario Challenge. In the Nintendo 3DS port, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, this arrangement plays during the map screen for the Super Mario Challenge, with the theme changing into three different versions as the player progresses further in the campaign.

Super Mario World: Mario to Yoshi no Bōken Land[edit]

In Super Mario World: Mario to Yoshi no Bōken Land, the original version of "Donut Plains (Map Screen)" plays in the scene showcasing a map of Donut Plains, and the scene where Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi first encounter a Ghost House.

Super Mario World television series[edit]

In the Super Mario World television series, an arrangement of "Donut Plains (Map Screen)" arranged by Michael Tavera can be heard in various episodes of the show. Moreover, an arrangement of the theme without backing instruments can be heard at the end of the episode "The Yoshi Shuffle". Curiously, both arrangements start later than the original composition.

Mario Kart World[edit]

In Mario Kart World, a medley arrangement of "Yoshi's Island (Map Screen)", "Star World (Map Screen)", "Forest of Illusion (Map Screen)", "Donut Plains (Map Screen)", and "Special World (Map Screen)" can play in Free Roam. It is titled the "Overworld Medley" in the game's pause menu.

It's Me, Mario! Stop Motion Shorts[edit]

In the third episode of It's Me, Mario! Stop Motion Shorts, "Shell Games", an arrangement of "Donut Plains (Map Screen)" plays in the first half of the short.
