Not to be confused with Caveman.
A Cave Person swinging on a vine in "Party Line".

The Cave People are native humans of Dinosaur Land and appear in almost all episodes of the Super Mario World animated series. The Cave People are generally rather short and stubby in appearance, often having long hair. In addition, Cave People primarily speak typical caveman gibberish, though there are some that are able to speak intelligibly, albeit in incomplete sentences. The only notable Cave Person is Oogtar, whose role is similar to that of Toad from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! and The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3; additionally, Oogtar and Toad share the same voice actor. Cave People appear to be somewhat unintelligent in comparison to present-day humans. They resemble and are likely based on the prehistoric peoples of Earth.

In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Quest for Pizza", Caveman Land was home to primitive Mushroom People. However, one human named Mugga coexists with them.
