Kent C. Koopa is a Gargantua Koopa Troopa who blocks Pleasant Path, the road to Koopa Village and the Koopa Bros. Fortress in Paper Mario. He appears after Chapter 1, when Mario no longer has to go to Koopa Village. However, he is blocking Kolorado's way as well, who wants to return home to his wife after his adventures on Lavalava Island. He is a completely optional boss. To pass him, Kent C. demands a toll of one hundred coins. He is an extremely strong fighter, with high offense and defense. However, he can be defeated easily if Mario and company attack his tail, instead of his shelled body. Kent C. Koopa uses a Ground Pound attack on Mario to squish him to do 10 damage, and a slow Shell Toss to flatten Mario and his partner for 3 damage. He could thus aptly cause great difficulty for Mario by knocking his partners out for possibly several turns. Also, he is very easily put to sleep, which can be easily taken advantage of.  The Nintendo Power Official Strategy Guide advised the D-Down Pound badge be used against him, which does extremely well against him as it liquidates his massive defense.  The guide also suggested the player bring a Life Shroom or two.
Kent C. blocks Pleasant Path, the road to Koopa Village and the Koopa Bros. Fortress after Chapter 5, preventing Kolorado from getting home after the explorer's adventures on Lavalava Island. He demands a toll of one hundred coins in order to let people pass, but Mario can fight him instead as an optional boss. Defeating him will cause him to flee from the path for the rest of the game. Russ T. implies that Kent C. Koopa taught the Koopa Bros. how to fight.

Kent C.'s name is a word play on the term "can't see", in reference to his huge glasses.
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Gus is an optional boss that is encountered much earlier in the game, and can be fought in a similar way.

Unlike other Koopas, Kent C. requires Mario to land two jumps in order to be flipped over, and he will immediately get back up that same turn; also unlike other Koopas, getting back up does not use up that turn, and he will attack as normal. While flipped, Kent's defense is halved to 3, and his tail can also be targeted and has a defense of 0. Using the Spin Smash attack on Kent C.'s tail while he is flipped over makes him spin around, causing him to drop a few coins. Kent C. is also vulnerable to being put to sleep by moves such as Mamar's Lullaby, and will not get up as quickly if he is asleep while flipped.
