“Pardon me - I should introduce myself. I'm the curator of Musée Champignon in Toad Town!”
Kanchō Kinopio, Paper Mario: The Origami King

Kanchō Kinopio is a character in Paper Mario: The Origami King. He is a yellow Toad with large spectacles. He is the curator of the Musée Champignon in Toad Town. He is found in Graffiti Underground hiding from the Folded Soldiers. After he is rescued, he is able to set up the museum and start keeping track of Mario's progress through a number of collectibles, trophies, music, and artwork. Eventually, his museum is fully filled, allowing him to charge double admission.

History

Kanchō Kinopio is one of two Toads found in Graffiti Underground. He is found shivering in the corner at the start of the level, nervous about anyone approaching him. When he realizes it is Mario who has saved him, he explains he was hiding from the Folded Soldiers and introduces himself as the curator of the Musée Champignon in Toad Town. He boasts about his collection filled with collectibles and artwork, particularly the main exhibit, the Super Marino. He tells Mario he hopes to see him there regardless of the circumstances and leaves. As he leaves, Olivia appears to be processing what he said about his museum and the exhibit, having paid more attention to his distinct appearance.

From this point on, the Toad is found behind the front desk at the Musée Champingon. When Mario walks in for the first time he is there, the curator gives him a brief rundown of his museum, highlighting the artifacts he offers to display as Mario earns them. Although most of his exhibits are currently empty, he does boast the Super Marino, the vessel used by a legendary captain. Finally, he offers to center display the trophies Mario unlocks by completing specific, detailed, and lengthy achievements before bidding him farewell and good luck.

Each time Mario earns a new trophy, the curator informs him of their arrival and provides them for the exhibit. Once Mario has collected all fifteen trophies, essentially clearing the museum, the curator thanks him for making his museum memorable, stating he now plans to charge double admission. When Olivia compliments his ambition, he claims Mario deserves the credit for his efforts. Following this, Toads appear in the museum to view various exhibits and are presumably charged for doing so.
