Big Cutout Soldiers are black papery enemies that appear in Paper Mario: The Origami King. They were created by the Scissors, and can only be found in Bowser's Castle after Olivia and Bowser's minions are captured by Handaconda. Big Cutout Soldiers can no longer be fought after Scissors is defeated.

They can perform five different attacks: Flat Fist, Stacked Fist, Flat Foot, Stacked Foot, and Big Chain of Pain. Flat Fist and Flat Foot are both performed by a single soldier and deal 15 damage. For Stacked Fist and Stacked Foot, between two and six soldiers put themselves in a stack and punch or kick Mario with their combined area. Both moves deal anywhere between 15 and 27 damage, with each joining Big Cutout Soldier adding 2 maximum damage to the attack. Big Chain of Pain is only performed when there is a large group of Big Cutout Soldiers; they surround Mario and quickly close in on him, with each Big Cutout Soldier doing a base 14 damage plus the amount of attackers.

Along with Ptooies, they are the only enemies to be able to drop large confetti bags.

There are also smaller variants called Li'l Cutout Soldiers. Both variants and Handaconda are depicted in Collectible Treasure No. 111: Cutout Soldiers.
