"Shy Guys Finish Last" is a theme composed for Paper Mario: The Origami King. It is a jazzy, brass-heavy track used as the main leitmotif of the Shy Guys Finish Last game show. It is available in the Green Streamer section at the Musée Champignon's Sound Exhibit.
A heavily simplified drum trill called "Today's Contestant" with deep brass notes plays when Emcee Shy Guy introduces Mario, Olivia, and Kamek. A version of this track with a different introduction, "Try the Sudden Death Round", plays when Mario is given the chance to play the Sudden Death round.
A slower-paced arrangement titled "Tell 'Em How It Works" plays when the player is rolling to see which minigame is next.
Different arrangements of "Shy Guys Finish Last" play during the four minigames. "Ring Scramble", "Race 'n' Place", "Ninji Skills", and "Bath Math". Each song also has a unique Thinking variant.
The music for the Sudden Death round, "Sudden Death", is based on the break in the middle portion of "Shy Guys Finish Last".
